Human centred design

I love working with a user centred process. It takes away guesswork and allows us to create a better experience. Translating user goals and motives into effective information architecture and user journeys helps me develop a keen understanding of what the design needs to achieve.

Complex interactions

The challenge of designing complex processes is very satisfying. Understanding complicated business requirements and technical restrictions, then developing them into wireframes or interactive prototypes is a great way to communicate how my solution is going to satisfy user and client requirements.

Detailed visual design

Visual design is more that making wireframes pretty. It’s taking the knowledge and understanding of the key design challenges and proposed solution, and applying the brand style to enhance and support these features and functionality. It's what takes the design a step beyond the user's expectations.

Writing

Sharing knowledge is really important to me. As well as personal blogging, I have articles published on UXBooth and on Flow Interactive.

Knitting

Knitting is basically turning knots into stuff. Sometimes stuffed toys. But it’s rather satisfying watching something slowly develop from your knitting needles.
